Alani Nu as a company is not really big. We’re not sure when they started as a company, but we don’t recall ever hearing about Alanin Nu products until 2019.

Now, let’s take a closer look at what’s inside Alani Nu pre-workout:
In one 9.6 gram scoop, you will get:
- Citrulline Malate: Nothing can beat citrulline malate when it comes to giving users a huge pump boost. With citrulline malate helping your body produce lots of nitric oxide, your blood circulation vastly improves. It may not seem much, but this allows nutrients to be absorbed faster and used more efficiently. At six grams, it’s a really generous dosage. More than just a good performance boost, a study also confirmed that taking Citrulline Malate may improve subjective feelings of fatigue and soreness after exercising. 
- Beta-alanine: Beta-alanine is considered a must-have when it comes to pre-workout formulas. It can help to improve strength and performance as well as work on enhancing muscle recovery. In a study that involved college wrestlers and college football players, experts aimed to study the effects of taking beta-alanine daily when performing 300-yard shuttles and 90 degrees flexed arm hang. The results showed the group with the beta-alanine supplement improved more than a placebo, indicating a 1.1 second time reduction (vs 0.4-second placebo) and better-flexed arm hang time of 3 seconds (vs 0.39 seconds placebo). One other study that wanted to see the effects of continuous beta-alanine supplementation aimed to test the ingredient for intense exercises such as rowing.The study supplemented elite Belgian rowers with beta-alanine over 7 weeks. They made the volunteers row 2,000 meters (6561 feet) using an ergometer. It was later shown that beta-alanine supplementation improved rowing time by 4.3 seconds better than the placebo. The study also cited a 45.3% increase in carnosine content in soleus and 28.2% increase in gastrocnemius. 
- Tyrosine: Tyrosine is actually what you call a nootropic. Nootropics are supplements that primarily target the brain for brain health or brain function (or both!). Tyrosine may help you focus and fight stress especially during tough workouts that demand a lot of focus and brain stimulation.“All in all these results suggest tyrosine can improve cognitive performance without overt exposure to stress, but only if performance would normally be degraded by high cognitive demands. This is likely because high cognitive demands induce a stress-like state leading to catecholamine depletion, the negative consequences of which can be counteracted by tyrosine.” 
- Caffeine: At 200 mg, this pre-workout staple offers about as much energy as two cups of brewed coffee. Now, depending on your tolerance, 200 mg could be just the usual dose to start your day or an insomnia-inducing serving. Regardless, you will definitely get enough energy for your daily workout routine. 
- Theanine: On its own, theanine is actually more of a relaxant and calming ingredient and is largely found in tea. In a blend with caffeine or other stimulants, theanine is said to be the antithesis to caffeine in that pre-workout supplements add it to fight the stim-related side effects.

- Energy: 200 mg is nothing to scoff at. True, we’ve seen a lot of monsters in the industry when it comes to caffeine, but 200 mg can actually be enough if you’re not fond of heavy-stim formulas, to begin with.
- Good pump action: We like the dose they gave for citrulline malate.
- Reduced stim side effects: The side effects associated with caffeine might be reduced given that we also have theanine at the same dosage.
The most probable side effects of using Alani Nu pre-workout would have to be between caffeine and beta-alanine.
Even if the dosage is just about 2 cups of coffee’s worth, 200 mg could still give someone who isn’t fond of taking stimulants some bad side effects. Some of these side effects are nausea, jitters, and the crash – when your body suddenly just feels like its lost all its stored energy and you feel like lying down and calling it a day/night.
The good news is, Alani Nu pre-workout also has the same dose for Theanine, which should counteract some of the negative effects of caffeine.
