Where to Buy ENGN Pre-Workout

EVL Nutrition ENGN Overview

What Does EVL Nutrition ENGN Do?

EVL Nutrition ENGN is a powerful pre-workout formula that has been developed with the intention of giving you the physical and psychological edge you need to unleash carnage in the gym and really do some damage.

With its Mind-to-Muscle Matrix Proprietary Blend, you should have everything you need to enjoy enhanced pumps and a better mental connection to the muscles you’re working.

The idea with this is that it will enable you to more forcefully contract the target muscles, engorging them with nutrient-rich blood and stimulating a far greater degree of muscle hypertrophy from your workouts.

What’s in EVL Nutrition ENGN?

ENGN certainly seems to contain a wealth of potent pre-workout aids, so let’s take a look at the ingredients list to see exactly what you’re getting in each scoop:

  • Niacin
  • Vitamin B6

How and When Do I Take It?

As per the manufacturer’s recommendations, you are to take one scoop of ENGN approximately 15 – 30 minutes prior to training.

It is generally not advisable to use this product within a few hours of going to sleep because the stimulant content may affect your sleep quality; however, if you are training hard then you may find this to be a non-issue. Experiment and see what works best for you.

What are the Benefits?

Looking beyond the more surface-level benefits of caffeine-induced mental focus and increased pumps, we can see that nootropic substances like Choline and Huperzine A are going to do more than just give you a ‘buzz.’

These substances, along with Alpha-Glycerolphosphorylcholine, help to provide your brain with a greater level of acetylcholine, which has been shown to dramatically enhance concentration and overall cognitive function.

Beta-Alanine is another great addition to ENGN as it acts as a kind of buffer against lactic acid accumulation.

This lactate buffering effect will enable you to go longer and harder during those higher-rep sets, helping you to squeeze out those final few reps that would otherwise have been unreachable.

“The last three or four reps is what makes the muscle grow. This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion. That’s what most people lack, having the guts to go on and just say they’ll go through the pain no matter what happens.”

– Arnold Schwarzenegger

If that doesn’t convince you of the benefit of using Beta-Alanine as a lactic acid buffer then nothing will!

Furthermore, Creatine tends to be somewhat of a mainstay in pre-workout supplements, and for good reason.

Boosting your endogenous levels of adenosine triphosphate or ATP means that your body will have greater resources for energy production and output, and overall explosive force.

It’s also worth mentioning that Creatine helps to pull water into the muscle cells, causing a phenomenon known as cell swelling.

Cell swelling has been directly linked to the activation of muscle hypertrophy, as can be seen from these studies:

  2. Haussinger D, Hallbrucker C, vom DS, Lang F, Gerok W. Cell swelling inhibits proteolysis in perfused rat liver. Biochem J 1990;272:239-42.
  3. Haussinger D, Hallbrucker C, vom DS, Decker S, Schweizer U, Lang F, et al. Cell volume is a major determinant of proteolysis control in the liver. FEBS Lett 1991;283:70-2.

Are There Any Precautions?

In addition to the recommendations given above regarding tolerance assessment due to the caffeine content of EVL Nutrition ENGN, ensure that you speak to your doctor or physician prior to use if you suffer from any pre-existing medical conditions or if you are taking any medications.

What’s more, if you have a particularly intense workout coming up involving, say, high volume leg or back training, then you should exercise caution when using this supplement because of the potential strain placed on your cardiovascular system.

EVL Nutrition ENGN is not suitable for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women.

It’s also worth mentioning that if you’re used to drinking a cup of coffee before your workouts then you will most likely have to remove it in place of EVL Nutrition ENGN as such a high dose of caffeine could cause anxiety and jitteriness.

Available Flavors and Serving Sizes

EVL Nutrition ENGN is available in the following flavors:

  • Blue Raz
  • Fruit Punch
  • Watermelon
  • Furious Grape
  • Green Apple
  • Orange Dream

What’s more, you can find ENGN available in the following serving sizes:

  • 3 servings (Variety Pack)
  • 8 servings
  • 30 servings

I tend to view EVL Nutrition ENGN as a fairly run-of-the-mill pre-workout supplement in the broader context of the marketplace as a whole, so although it doesn’t really offer anything above and beyond what you’ll find in comparable products it certainly does offer most of the bare essentials.

The use of a proprietary blend would ordinarily put me off of a supplement like this because you can never tell exactly how much of each active ingredient you’re going to receive.

Having said that, I think that the positive user feedback speaks for itself, and ENGN is well worth considering.

Because there are no foul-tasting BCAA in EVL Nutrition ENGN it shouldn’t really be that difficult to make it taste half-decent.

I almost always go for watermelon flavors when they’re available, and EVL Nutrition certainly hasn’t disappointed with this one. If you’re a fan of watermelon like I am then you’ll definitely want to go for it if you’re unsure which flavor to choose at first.

Is it Worth the Money?

ENGN is quite reasonably priced, and it isn’t going to break the bank compared to other pre-workout supplements at a similar level of the market.

With that said, I did mention that the lack of BCAA is going to require that you purchase some separately, so bear that in mind when comparing it with similar products.

If you’re unsure about whether or not EVL Nutrition ENGN is going to be right for you then be sure to take a look at some of our other pre-workout supplement reviews, as well as our upcoming Top 10 supplement lists.

This should give you a much clearer idea of what is available so that you can definitely get the most bang for your pre-workout buck.

EVL Nutrition ENGN is definitely a solid product, and although I wouldn’t personally use it due to the lack of BCAA I can certainly see it making a solid addition to the supplement arsenal of anyone who doesn’t mind using a separate amino acid product.
