MuscleTech AlphaTest Testosterone Booster FAQ

  • One Container: 60 servings
  • Serving Size: 2 Rapid-Release Bio Capsules

Everyone knows testosterone is the male hormone. It’s the one hormone that defines our muscles, makes us lift heavy stuff, and allows us to be really good in bed. However, what few know is just how precious testosterone is.

Men get to enjoy what seemed to be an infinite supply of this man hormone, only to suddenly experience a steep decline once we enter our mid 30s.

While we can’t stop this natural regression, what we can do is help support our body to produce more through test booster supplementation.

MuscleTech AlphaTest Testosterone Booster looks really good based on what they say on the website, as all do other brands, but we have to really see if it’s worth buying.

Read our MuscleTech AlphaTest Testosterone Booster review to find out.

Who Makes It?

AlphaTest Testosterone Booster is made by MuscleTech, one of the biggest companies in the supplement industry. They’ve been an industry giant for over twenty years and they’ve made plenty of supplements, some of which are still being sold today. They’re also into the habit of revisiting old formulas and adjusting them to fit today’s standards and new research.

Marketing Claims Made

The following claims were made about MuscleTech AlphaTest Testosterone Booster:

  • Scientifically Backed: The ingredients are definitely worth commending. They didn’t just out some random herb or flower, but the more conventional and popular ingredients.
  • Engineered for serious athletes
  • Tribulus and Fenugreek as the flagship ingredients: Tribulus and Fenugreek are good and all, but these herbs are not that good to be the center of your product.

What’s in it?

Now, let’s take a closer look at what’s inside MuscleTech AlphaTest Testosterone Booster. In one serving, you will get:

    • Zinc as zinc gluconate: Zinc is one of the best minerals for supporting testosterone. It’s one of the primary materials the body needs to produce testosterone and is even found in the testes, where sperm is produced. [1]
    • Fenugreek extract (as Trigonella foenum-graecum)(seed) Standardized for 50% saponins: We’re not that convinced with Fenugreek as a testosterone booster. What it can do for testosterone is help fight off enzymes that lower it. So in a way, it protects testosterone. However, fenugreek is more known for its libido boosting properties hence why we’re not totally sold on it. We do like how it’s standardized, though. Being standardized is a mark of quality and potency in any formula.Studies also show Fenugreek is best taken with heavy exercise in mind.“In conclusion, Fenu-FG supplementation showed promising anabolic and androgenic effects in male subjects during 8 weeks of resistance training program in a double-blind randomized placebo-controlled study without serious adverse events.”[2]
    • Tribulus extract (as Tribulus terrestris)(whole herb and fruit) Standardized for 45% saponins: Just like fenugreek, tribulus is taken more for its libido-boosting and vigor properties and only shows a bit of testosterone boosting. [3]
    • Shilajit extract (PrimaVie®) Standardized for 50% fulvic acid: This is a mushroom extract that’s been cited to help increase free testosterone, DHEA levels, and total testosterone levels in 90 days of supplementation. [4]
    • Boron citrate, Supplying 5% boron: Boron is perhaps one of the best minerals for testosterone just like Zinc. Boron helps optimize magnesium and vitamin D levels (vitamins known to be pro testosterone) while also fighting stuff that can lower testosterone levels like estradiol and SHBG. [5]
    • Broccoli (as Brassica oleracea) (whole plant): This may look like your average broccoli powder, but it contains a compound known as Diindomethylmethane or DIM. DIM is an anti-estrogen compound, but the research surrounding it is not that good, especially since it’s mostly used for Post-Menopausal women’s health.”Our data suggest that DIM enhances estrogen metabolism in thyroid proliferative disease patients and can potentially serve as an antiestrogenic dietary supplement to help reduce the risk of developing thyroid proliferative disease.”

Benefits

Some of the benefits you can expect from taking MuscleTech AlphaTest Testosterone Booster include:

  • Good testosterone support: The testosterone support mainly comes from the minerals zinc and boron, two of the best ingredients to consider in a testosterone booster.
  • Reduced side effects: The fact that we have premium ingredients mean they passed through rigorous testing for safety and consumption.
  • Better libido and vigor: If you’re not going to use this for what you do with a partner, you can definitely feel a bit more energized which can work for anything that requires some level of strength such as exercising.

Precautions

We think the side effects are kept to a minimum here, given that the dosages are nothing too extreme or over the top, and how we have premiums instead of generic, cheap extracts from some place we’ve never heard of.

We always recommend you speak with your doctor before taking any supplements featured on this site.

Taste/Flavors

MuscleTech AlphaTest Testosterone Booster is in capsule form, so there’s no reason to have it taste anything more than what typical capsules taste like.

Number of Servings

One bottle has 60 servings. One serving is 2 Rapid-Release Bio Capsules

Top Alternative to This Product

MuscleTech AlphaTest Testosterone Booster vs EVL Test

We think a good alternative to MuscleTech AlphaTest  is EVL Test, especially because they have similar ingredients. Here’s what’s inside EVL Test:

  • Vitamin D (as Cholecalciferol)
  • Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCl)
  • Magnesium (as Aspartate)
  • Zinc (as Monomethionine and Aspartate)
  • D-Aspartic Acid
  • Tribulus terrestris Extract (std. min. 40% saponins) (fruit)
  • Fenugreek Seed Extract (std. min. 50% saponins)
  • Diindolylmethane

EVL Test has more ingredients focused on testosterone over libido, especially with D-Aspartic Acid, perhaps the best ingredient for testosterone.

Not to mention that it also contains vitamin D and magnesium, nutrients that are known to help with overall testosterone production. MuscleTech AlphaTest only has ingredients that support magnesium and vitamin D absorption, but not the actual compounds.

Overall, we think EVL Test is just better for the actual testosterone boosting aspect of a male supplement. It’s just more complete and well-rounded.

What we can say for MuscleTech AlphaTest is, it’s cheaper, so if price would be a problem, MuscleTech AlphaTest is definitely a better alternative.

Customer Feedback

Based on its Amazon ratings, users give it a quite impressive 4.3/5. We’re saying impressive because a lot of people criticize MuscleTech for selling overpriced formulas. However, AlphaTest seems to be an exception to that rule.

Many praise the testosterone booster for how it can have a boost in energy as well as libido. They also say it worked on them despite being in their late 40s. Some even say it only took them two weeks to lose some weight, though this wasn’t the exact benefit MuscleTech was promoting.

Critics pan it for causing acne and just not having the expected results. Some of them also noted that they had more libido than energy, which they didn’t like.

Bottom Line

MuscleTech AlphaTest Testosterone Booster is the kind of testosterone booster that puts a higher priority to libido and vigor over the actual testosterone production. It still has a decent testosterone support effect, thanks largely to the presence of Zinc and Boron.

However, we still think the overall effect of the formula is not that high or near the potency of some of the more well-known testosterone supplements like Prime Male. The price more than makes up for it, though, so perhaps it’s a case of you get what pay for.

We think AlphaTest isn’t a bad product. If you’re on a tight budget or if you just need a little boost to your testosterone supplements, AlphaTest should help fill your needs.
