When it comes to fitness and getting strong, nothing really beats good old fashioned weight lifting. And the best way to get a better lifting experience is by taking pre-workouts.

The problem is, most pre-workouts in the market often fill themselves to the brim with artificial ingredients and intoxicating levels of stimulants like caffeine. While users do get a huge boost in performance, the dreaded caffeine crash awaits them.

Powher is a women’s pre-workout designed to remove the side effects of stimulant use and still give users a good feeling overall. More importantly, they want women to feel safe knowing the pre-workout they’re taking won’t make them rage or end up with bulging muscles.

Let’s check if Powher really does deliver on their promises! Shall we?

Who Makes It?

Powher is sold by Ultimate Life LTD., an England-based supplement company (1). They formulated Powher to specifically aim at women who like to have all the benefits of a pre-workout without the horrible side effects imparted by huge servings of stimulants.

They also marketed it to women who are into fitness and lifting but aren’t really down with the idea of looking like a pro-muscle-building competitor. Though it’s a lot harder to look like that than one may think.

Unlike many manufacturers, Ultimate life takes their time and spend many months developing products that are supported by science. You won’t find unnecessary ingredients in their formulas, nor do they throw supplements into the range just for the sake of it.

The drawback is that you have to pay a bit more for their supplements and you won’t find them in stores or on Amazon. That said multi-box discounts are available direct from the website meaning you can get the best deals when you buy a few months in advance.

Marketing Claims Made

Ultimate Life LTD makes the following claims about Powher:

  • Powerful Energy: The supplement makes use of several sources of energy, and none of them comes from artificial caffeine. This is great news for those who hate jitters and strong stimulants in general.
  • Improved Focus: We only see tyrosine as its “focus” ingredient, but at 500 mg we think it’s reasonable enough to work.
  • Greater Stamina: Powher contains beta-alanine and coconut water powder, ingredients known to help reduce fatigue. Then there’s also the idea of having slow-release energy ingredients in their formula. Slow-release energy enables a more regulated energy level that is both performance-enhancing and sustainable for longer periods than direct release.
  • Optimal Dosing: While the word “optimal” can vary between each individual, as far as working or functional dosages are concerned, we think Powher is on the right track.

What’s in it?

One serving includes:

  • 300mg Enxtra
  • 400mg Oxyjun
  • 500mg Rednite
  • 500mg Coconut Water Powder
  • 100mg Natural Caffeine (Green Coffee)
  • 1g Beta-Alanine
  • 2g L-Citrulline Malate
  • 2.5g Taurine

Let’s take a deeper look at what each of these Powher ingredients does:

  • ENXTRA: Our research tells us this branded ingredient is composed of lemongrass oil, Alpinia galanga extract, and licorice extract. Based on the literature, these three check out as what you may refer to as clean energy sources aka compounds that boost your energy without giving you a crash side effect (2). It’s also stated to provide up to five hours of sustainable energy and have no jittery side effect.
  • OXYJUN: A branded form of the herb Terminalia arjuna. It’s a bark extract known for its heart-healthy properties when it comes to reducing the risks of coronary artery disease (3). Much like ENXTRA, POWHER uses this as another source of non-jittery and no-crash energy since it’s also known to improve athletic performance (4).
  • REDNITE: This cool-sounding ingredient is actually a concentrated form of fresh beetroot. Beetroot is known for its vasodilation benefits and REDNITE is built on that principle to get muscle pumps. Muscle pumps are what fitness enthusiasts refer to when nitric oxide is produced at a rapid rate to enhance physical performance, especially when lifting heavy weights (5).
  • Coconut Water Powder: Coconut water powder contains a lot of electrolytes. In training, electrolytes support muscle hydration which is critical to recovery and even muscle performance. Having a surplus of electrolytes can help delay the onset of fatigue (6).
  • Tyrosine: A nootropic that helps produce more dopamine and norepinephrine. It’s also known to reduce mental fatigue and stress (7). With regards to POWHER, tyrosine helps keep you calm and focused.
  • Citrulline Malate: When it comes to muscle pumps, nothing can beat the potency of citrulline malate. Citrulline malate is considered a high-quality vasodilator much like beetroots, but more direct (8). More muscle pumps can lead to better lifts and a much better workout experience.
  • Natural Caffeine: Unlike its anhydrous counterpart, the caffeine we have here is in its natural form. We’re not exactly sure what source they used, but if we’re to hazard a guess it would be from green coffee beans. The caffeine dose we get is equivalent to a cup of freshly brewed coffee (9).
  • Beta-Alanine: Considered a pre-workout staple in the supplement industry. It has a plethora of performance and recovery benefits but is mainly taken to reduce muscle fatigue and help users train longer (10).
  • Lysine: Lysine is an amino acid used to help manage stress levels and boost calcium absorption (11).
  • Taurine: Almost as popular as caffeine when it comes to energy drinks and pre-workouts. It’s an amino acid that supports muscle hydration which in turn helps boost performance (12).

Powher Supplement Facts Label

Pre Workout For Women Powher Supplement Facts

Powher is designed for women who want to get stuff done in the gym, but without resorting to the awful side effects of stimulant ingestion. Powher did it by including multiple energy sources that won’t shoot your energy levels to the roof. It also made use of a form of caffeine that not only is mildly dosed but also enables a more manageable energy-boosting effect.

Despite its lack of muscle-building ingredients like creatine and whey protein, Powher still gives women a boost in performance through high-quality vasodilators such as the new names Oxyjun and Rednite.

Powher isn’t also all about lifts and energy. It also tries to focus on the little things that help a lifter delay fatigue as well as recover faster with ingredients like coconut water and taurine.

The creators of Powher made sure that the formula only contains ingredients that aren’t known to exhibit horrible side effects. The dosage for caffeine is just over a cup of coffee’s worth and the rest of the ingredients are mostly natural extracts.

There is a chance that you might feel a tingling sensation under your skin, and that’s due to beta-alanine causing a temporary and mildly annoying condition called paresthesia. Basically, the beta-alanine is working its way in your blood vessels, but the molecules are larger than usual hence the itching sensation.

We always recommend you speak with a doctor before taking any supplements featured on this website.

How to Take It

Much like most pre-workouts, Powher is in the form of a powder and the supplement recommends mixing a scoop of 10 g of Powher into a glass with approximately 8 ounces of water. They strongly recommend consuming before your workout.

The specific time before your workout isn’t mentioned, but based on our experience 20-30 minutes before is a good gauge because exercising too soon might cause bloating.

There’s only one flavor right now and it’s Pink Lemonade. Based on some online reviews we found, users mention a super sour smell similar to cranberry. When mixed, they describe the taste as more of a raspberry candy than lemonade.

Number of Servings

One container provides 25 servings or about a month’s supply.

Top Alternative to This Product

Powher vs Women’s Best

Pre-workouts for women are on the rise and one of the trending ones we noticed is a pre-workout called Women’s Best.

Women’s Best is also a pre-workout powder with a 10 g serving size. It contains a lot of muscle pumping ingredients like Citrulline Malate and Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutaric Acid (which is pretty much a citrulline support ingredient) as well as beta-alanine and creatine for recovery and fatigue.

Women’s Best also has tyrosine for focus and mood and 50% more caffeine for energy.

Performance-wise, it would seem Women’s Best really did best Powher (pun very much intended), but a deeper look will regain our confidence in Powher once again.

Unlike Powher, Women’s Best actually felt the need to mention maltodextrin as part of their key ingredients. Maltodextrin is used as a filler and buffer and has no real performance benefits.

What we’re trying to say is, Women’s Best isn’t really the best.

Customer Feedback

There aren’t many public reviews on Powher because it’s not sold through big retail stores like Amazon, but we did find plenty of consumer review sites that rate Powher a confident “good” or 4/5 rating. They highlight the good taste as well as the energy it provides.

We have also gotten several reviews from our own readers, so scroll down further to check those out!

  • Branded ingredients – High-end extracts including Oxyjun, Rednite, and Enxtra
  • Designed for women – Zero muscle bulking ingredients like creatine
  • Fast worldwide shipping

The Drawbacks

  • Not available on Amazon
  • Premium price tag

Powher is first and foremost a pre-workout formula designed for women or generally people who find supplements catered to men too strong or have too much of an artificial feel to them.

The supplement makes use of natural ingredients as well as novel brands that, while new, aren’t devoid of research to back their claims. We also think Powher didn’t pull any punches when it came to pumps.

The only drawback we see is the way it’s priced versus other pre-workouts in the industry. If you’re comfortable with the idea of a premium formula that comes with a premium price tag, Powher is a must-try.
